MUMBAI, (ANI) – Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophies have inspired many filmmakers in India to make projects on the leader who was at the forefront of the freedom struggle against colonial British rule with utmost patience.
As it’s the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, let’s look at actors who got the chance to portray the role of the great freedom fighter in their life.
Darshan Jariwala
In 2007, Darshan essayed the role of Mahatma Gandhi in the film ‘Gandhi, My Father’. It was directed by Feroz Abbas Khan.
The film was the biographical drama of Harilal Gandhi, the eldest son of Mahatma Gandhi.
It was based on his biography titled, Harilal Gandhi: A Life, by Chandulal Bhagubhai Dalal.
Surendra Rajan
Actor Surendra Rajan was seen as Mahatma Gandhi in projects such as ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’ and ‘Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero’.
Pratik Gandhi
Actor Pratik Gandhi will be seen donning the role of Mahatma Gandhi in Hansal Mehta’s directorial ‘Gandhi’.
The work on the project is currently underway.
Chirag Vohra
Chirag essayed the role of Mahatma Gandhi in Nikkhil Advani’s ‘Freedom at Midnight’ series.
Annu Kapoor
