Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter’s ‘Homebound’ Selected For Cannes 2025

MUMBAI (ANI)- Filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan’s latest feature, Homebound, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, has been officially selected for the 78th Cannes Film Festival.
The film will be showcased in the prestigious Un Certain Regard section, known for highlighting distinctive and artistically daring cinema from around the globe.
The announcement was made on April 10 as the Cannes Film Festival revealed its official 2025 lineup, which also features works by renowned directors such as Wes Anderson and Ari Aster.
Both Janhvi and Ishaan expressed their excitement on Instagram. Calling it his “most challenging role yet,” Ishaan wrote, “A film I knew was special from the moment it entered my life.
This is what dreams are made of: pure intention, grit, compassion, and truth. One of the proudest moments of my cinematic journey so far.”
He also acknowledged director Neeraj Ghaywan’s vision, calling him “a friend with a beautiful mind and deep empathy,” and noted that Homebound marks his return to working with Karan Johar and Dharma Productions after seven years.
Janhvi Kapoor shared, “A moment where Indian cinema takes over the world. We are honored to announce that Homebound has been selected for the 78th Festival de Cannes in the Un Certain Regard category. Our hearts are full—we can’t wait to bring this journey to the big screen.”
For Neeraj Ghaywan, this marks a meaningful return to Cannes. His critically acclaimed debut, Masaan, also premiered in the Un Certain Regard category in 2015 and won two awards.
Homebound is written and directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and stars Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa.
