Title: BMBB: Diverse Cultures, One Cause

By Harish Kotecha

An Evening of Cultural Confluence

The 11th Annual Bollywood Meets Borscht Belt (BMBB) on Sunday, April 21, 2024, is set to be an evening of cultural richness and community spirit. This unique, family-friendly event brings together the vibrant Indian-American and lively Jewish communities for a night of captivating performances.

Empowering Education with HC4A

Since 2010, Hindu Charities for America (HC4A) has been dedicated to providing essential school supplies to homeless children in Austin and providing vocational scholarships.

Their motto is ‘Serve Where You Live’ – in essence of immigrant communities coming together to pay it forward with educational philanthropy.

Event partner, Shalom Austin nurtures the vibrant spirit of Jewish life in Central Texas.

They provide a wide array of services including educational programs, social services, and cultural events to enhance the well-being and connections within the Jewish community.

To date, the school supplies initiative has supported over 14,000 homeless children.

This year again, they are aiming to extend help to over 1000 children.

Your Contribution Counts

Each ticket purchase or donation at the BMBB event goes directly towards buying binders, backpacks, pencils, and other critical school supplies for students who need them the most.

You can purchase tickets from the ec4a.org website. This is also a great opportunity for local businesses to become familiar with the audiences and grow their brand awareness through cause-based outreach.

Once HC4A meets its fundraising goal, a gathering will be organized in August, where

volunteers will pack these supplies for delivery. Some major school districts supported through these funds include Austin, Manor, and Del Valle ISDs and several other smaller peer nonprofits serving the underserved.

Volunteer with HC4A

If you’re interested in volunteering for this event or other meaningful programs throughout the year, send a message to info@hc4a.org or join the Facebook group l’Hindu Charities for America’.
